My fantastic husband and I went to New Orleans this past week to visit with family as well as participate in an ongoing celebration of food and drink known as Tales of the Cocktail.

Let me just say this was a whirlwind of cocktail celebrities, new friends, great food, excellent cocktails, and way too much fun. If you’ve never been to New Orleans, or can’t wait to go back, and you love food, drinks, and social hours, then this would be the time to come. Tales is in its 6th year and will continue for a very long time, I can assure you of that.

I won’t go into too much detail as there is so much, but you can check out my husband’s website, Meade Kincke, Boy Genius, for upcoming posts on the events, the overall feelings, the spirits, and the many cocktail recipes he has made because of it. Meade is the best mixologist, bar chef, and bartender that I have ever met because of his unique talent to create a custom drink that you’ll love with only knowing you for a minute. At tales, he was a guest bartender along side The Fabulous Shaker Boys from Amsterdam and whipped up a few cocktails in a matter of minutes from a limited supply for complete strangers based on their regular beverages of choice. They raved about the cocktails and begged for him to continue mixing up these delicious gems.

My response to them and you is, “Look for him in the future and ask for him by name, Meade Kincke.”
